What the 9/11 Museum Costs
Free: everything at street level
The memorial plaza is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm, as published; check the museum’s own page on 911memorial.org before travelling. There is no ticket and no queue beyond the plaza entrances. The two pools in the tower footprints, the bronze parapets with 2,983 names, the Survivor Tree, the Memorial Glade and about 400 swamp white oaks are all in this free zone. Ticketed: the museum under the plaza
The museum occupies 110,000 square feet about 70 feet below the plaza, entered through the glass pavilion at 180 Greenwich Street. Entry is by timed ticket for a chosen date and slot. The listing for the museum’s own ticket also carries two family bundles, an Early Access Museum Tour, a Guided Museum Tour and a FLEX ticket for arrival at any time on the chosen day. Who enters the museum free
Children aged 6 and under enter free but still need a ticket. Free entry all year, with ID where stated, applies to 9/11 family members, museum members, rescue and recovery workers and others eligible for the WTC Health Program, active and retired US military and veterans, and FDNY, NYPD and Port Authority Police. SNAP or EBT cardholders get up to four admissions at the box office under Museums for All. One care partner accompanying a disabled visitor enters free. Free Monday evenings and first Sundays
Free Admission Mondays run from 5:30 pm to the 7 pm close, with tickets reserved online from 7 am the same Monday, first come first served. On the first Sunday of each month, from 4 pm to 7 pm, people who live, work or study in the New York area enter free with ID. Both are crowded, because the tickets go quickly. Passes that include the museum
The museum accepts New York CityPASS, New York C3, The New York Pass and the Go City Explorer Pass. A pass holder still needs a timed slot for the museum, so the booking page applies to them as well.
What a guided walk adds
Five of the six products on this site are guided walks of 1.5 to 2.5 hours through the free zone, with the museum as an option. The Ground Zero walk and the City Hall route offer the museum self-guided or with a museum docent. The full access walk adds One World Observatory as well; the observatory walk offers the view without the museum, and the small-group walk caps the group at 20. The museum ticket close-up covers the sixth. Each option adds its own line to the price, which is why the observatory combinations and the guided walks are compared by content, not by figure.
Why this site prints no prices
Museum and tour prices change by date, by option and by season, and a figure typed today could be wrong next month. The widget below shows the live calendar and the live price from GetYourGuide for the selected date. The tickets hub lists all six products side by side.
Free Monday tickets are released online at 7 am the same Monday and go quickly. A dated timed ticket for another day avoids the wait and the crowd.
