Getting to the 9/11 Memorial
By subway
- 1 to WTC Cortlandt.

By PATH from New Jersey
PATH trains from New Jersey terminate at the World Trade Center terminal inside the Oculus, the transportation hub by Santiago Calatrava that opened on 3 March 2016. From the Oculus the memorial plaza is next door. The nearby page describes the hall itself.
By bus
The M55 stops at Broadway and Thames southbound and at Trinity Place and Rector northbound. The M20 serves South End Avenue and the M22 Vesey Street.
By ferry
NY Waterway, NYC Ferry, the Staten Island Ferry and Statue City Cruises all land within a walk of the site. The Staten Island Ferry and the Statue of Liberty boats leave from the Battery, south of the memorial.
The entrances
The memorial plaza has open entrances from the surrounding streets and needs no ticket. The museum has one public entrance, the glass pavilion at 180 Greenwich Street, with airport-style security inside. The guided walks start elsewhere: the Ground Zero walks meet at L’Arte del Gelato, a short walk from the memorial; the City Hall route at Warren Street and Broadway; the small-group walk at M Social Hotel New York Downtown, across Church Street. Parking near the site
There is no parking at the memorial, and on-street parking in Lower Manhattan is extremely limited. Partner garages give discounts to museum ticket holders; the museum’s own site names them. Public transport is the practical route. The arrival page covers the 15-minute rule for the slot.
Arriving by PATH puts the Oculus first, then the plaza and the pavilion, which is the same order the guided walks use.
